Previewing Today’s Games!

Goood morning. We are currently en route to Billings, Montana, and there are some AMAZING games on the schedule tonight, so… Let’s talk about them!

All times pacific.

SPU @ MSUB @ 4:15pm

While the result appears semi-obvious, Brendan Howard will make things interesting, Zharon Richmond could make things interesting, Jalen Green is a chucker as far as we’re concerned but other people seem to think that he makes things interesting, and so… If SPU comes out as flat as they did against SMU on Tuesday, this game could be a major problem. If MSUB can catch them off-guard with a slow start, who knows? It’s hard to play in Altertowitz, and we feel like we say that a lot, but… Basically it’s hard to play outside the I-5 corridor. We’ll see what these young Falcons are able to do at 2500 feet.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

WWU @ WOU @ 7:30pm

Arguably the best game of the night. The Westerns have kind of cultivated a great rivalry as of late; their games tend to be super exciting, huge battles, both are still vying for a spot in the conference tournament, WWU’s locked in battle (currently) with NNU for the first round BYE, and so… Everyone’s gonna be fired up. It should be amazing.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

CWU @ UAF @ 8pm

Yet another rivalry game. Spar vs. his old school. We know there are a lot of CWU turned UAF fans that’ll be rooting for the Wildcats to go down, and go down hard, and they just might because this year’s UAF team gets more fantastic as the season goes on. They’re building and building and we think tonight it’ll continue, despite the fact that CWU has been a lot better as of late.

Prediction: UAF wins.

NNU @ UAA @ 8pm

NNU is battling for the first round BYE, UAA is battling to make the tournament, it’s going to be intense, it’s going to be crazy. UAA was just swept by the North schools and so they’re going to be wanting to bounce back. NNU has been on a HUUUUGE winning streak and so they’re going to want to keep it rolling. While we lean toward NNU, we’ll still say…

Prediction: Pick ’em.

SFU @ CU-PDX @ 8:30pm

Yes, that time is correct; we double checked. A lot has come out since CU-Portland last played, and so there’s ultimately going to be a lot on the line for both teams. CU-PDX to end the final season in existence strong, and SFU because they’re locked in a battle trying to make the conference tournament. Concordia had some good results last week, getting a win over SMU, and then getting to go really deep and get a lot of guys playing time against SPU, and so… They should come out super strong at the very minimum. Simon Fraser has been looking better and better; while they’re coming off a loss to UAF, that’s nothing to be too worried about and so they’ll want to get this win to continue their battle for the conference tournament.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

We want SFU to play hard and get the win, but at the same time anyone beating Concordia will now feel like kicking a puppy. Yikes.

As noted above: Tonight we’re at Alterowitz. It’ll be our first time back there in three years, although our fourth time at MSUB. Jacket fans: We have curly blonde hair and will be sitting directly across from SPU, so by all means come say ‘hi.’

Be safe, have fun, go GNAC!
