As you’re seeing this, we’re probably driving to Nampa because of course we are.
All times pacific.
MSUB @ WWU @ 3pm
Both teams are coming off losses to Simon Fraser, and so who’s going to win this match-up? Probably WWU because Brendan can’t do everything, and while neither can Trevor, Trevor does have a significantly better supporting cast.
Prediction: WWU wins.
CU-PDX @ UAF @ 4:15pm
UAF is coming off of a HUUUUGE win against WOU (is it huge? Maybe, but regardless for the Nooks it is) while CU-PDX is coming off of a near-miss at UAA. Concordia will want to right the ship while the Nooks will want to keep it rolling. It should be a good game. We’re starting to lean toward the Nooks, just because their guys truly are starting to put up some consistent numbers, and it’s not just one or two of them -it’s a solid four or five. Will it mean anything against the meat of the schedule? We’ll see. But for now they’re looking cautiously optimistically good.
Prediction: UAF wins.
WOU @ UAA @ 6:15pm
WOU is going to want to right the ship, and as much as Anchorage will want to keep it going… They’ll want to right the ship as well. Anchorage can play better than they did on Thursday; they know it, and we know it, so we’ll see if they do it. That said: the Wolves also know they can play better and we think WOU’s potential is ultimately higher than that of Anchorage, so… No telling what’s gonna happen. Either team could win a close one or blow the other one out.
Prediction: Pick ’em.
SPU @ NNU @ 6:30pm
The Falcons survived a scare against CWU, but honestly… Young team things. They’re not going to be able to get away with that in Nampa, and we strongly suspect many of said young Falcons are writing off the Nighthawks after their blowout loss to SMU. This is the GNAC; where a score on any given night doesn’t matter. The Nighthawks could blow-out the Falcons just as easily as they got blown out by the Saints. Constant vigilance.
Prediction: NNU wins.
SMU @ CWU @ 7:15pm
We’re excited about this game. SMU just got a killer win against NNU, while CWU lost a heartbreaker to SPU. The Wildcats have nearly tasted success and so that’s what they’re going to want to focus on tonight. That said… As a general rule, it’s much easier to get up for SPU than it is SMU and the CWU players are going to need to be poppin’ from the get-go. While many of the CWU players will be remembering last year’s 2OT loss to SMU in the final game of the regular season, the fact is that literally zero of SMU’s current team played in that game -although Assistant Coach Luke Chavez did.
Prediction: Pick ’em.
Should be a really good day of games. We’ll be keeping an eye on everything.
As noted above: We’re headed out to NNU, so come say ‘hi’ if you want.
Be safe, have fun, go GNAC!
