Previewing Today’s Games!

We’ve got another day of games in this holy month of Nutso November, and so… Let’s talk about them.

All times pacific.

Seattle Pacific vs. Azusa Pacific @ CU-Irvine @ 2pm

The Falcons aren’t where they wanted to be going into this weekend at a whopping 0-3, but… Two of those wins come against arguably two of the top teams in the West Region, and this loss will come via another one of those teams, so… Good luck SPU! And by that we mean: Seriously, the GNAC needs you so please look respectable.

Prediction: Azusa wins.

Alaska-Fairbanks @ Monterey Bay @ 2pm

Monterey Bay just beat Concordia-Portland, while UAF just beat HPU; all four teams are considered to be relative peers in their respective conferences, and so… Both teams will be looking to pick up another ‘W’ and keep the ball rolling.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

TAMU Kingsville vs. Central Washington @ Northwest Nazarene @ 3pm

Kingsville is coming off of two wins against RMAC opponents Chadron State and South Dakota Mines, as well of a near upset of straight up Texas A&M. Central is looking better, but… Not that much better.

Prediction: The Javelinas win.

Saint Martin’s vs. Westminster @ Dixie State @ 4:30pm

Westminster has a win against the aforementioned Kingsville and while we’re not sure exactly what that means in context, without context it still means that in regard to the college basketball pyramid they have far more wins than the brand new SMU team, so…

Prediction: Westminster wins.

Hawaii-Hilo vs. CU-Portland @ Western Oregon @ 5pm

This is Hilo’s first game, while the Cavs lost a relatively unexpected one to Monterey Bay, so they’ll be looking to bounce back and are hoping to have the advantage in that they’ve actually played in two solidly competitive games already.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

Colorado Christian vs. Northwest Nazarene @ 7pm

Colorado Christian is 0-2, while NNU is yet to play a D2 game. NNU didn’t schedule as well as we think they should have, and thus we’re not expecting much out of this game in regard to relevant information, but…

Prediction: NNU wins.

Alaska-Anchorage @ Sonoma @ 7:30pm

We’re actually really curious about this game. UAA was looking fine and again: they return good people so they should theoretically be fine, but then they got their tails whipped by what could turnout to be a really good Chaminade team, so… We’ll see. Sonoma tends to sit in the bottom third of CCAA, and so theoretically it should be a good game for the Seawolves, but… We’ll see in this Seawolf eat Seawolf game.

Prediction: The Seawolves win.

^We couldn’t resist.

Western Washington @ CU-Irvine @ 7:30pm

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS GAME. Western has all the experience in the world, and yet got killed by a Cal Poly Pomona team that only barely escaped a brand new Seattle Pacific team, so… What are the Vikings? How good are they? CU-Irvine looks pretty darn good considering they’re already 4-1 against D2 competition, and yet will this Western game give us any information about how good the Eagles actually are? We’ll see.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

We’re at the CU-Irvine tournament tonight, not sure where we’re sitting for the second game, but as this post is going up we’re in our usual spot, so… As always, come say ‘hi’ if you want.

Be safe, have fun, go GNAC!
