BASKETBALL IS BAAAAACK!!!!! We’ve felt like posting stuff this week but didn’t feel like we had anything insightful to say and so we skipped it, but we have missed you all ❤ Hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. Our big plans… We shared a heart shaped pizza and watched the Bill Walton commentated Golden State/Portland game. It was amazing except for that whole Golden State losing thing, but oh well.
All times pacific.
SMU @ MSUB @ 4:15pm
SMU just won a close one against SPU, MSUB did the same against Simon Fraser. The Yellowjackets we believe technically aren’t out of the race for the conference tournament, while SMU is all but guaranteed a bid, so it could be a pretty energetic game. The Saints are going to need to be on their toes, but ultimately should be fine.
Prediction: SMU wins.
UAF @ SFU @ 5:15pm
UAF is coming off of a close loss to CWU, while SFU is coming off of a close loss to MSUB. Both teams should be super motivated and it should be a really good game. We love this UAF team and think they’re better than SFU, but that doesn’t mean they’re win. It’s pretty darn well matched and we look forward to following along.
Prediction: Pick ’em.
WOU @ NNU @ 6pm
Initially intrigued about this game. NNU gives teams problems at home, and while we don’t see WOU losing to the Nighthawks, we do see them being more uncomfortable than they often are. It should be good, they should eventually pull out the win, probably even convincingly, but at least the first half, if not part of the second half should be interesting.
Prediction: WOU wins.
CU-PDX @ CWU @ 7pm
Is this the game CU-Portland gets their win? Probably not, but it could be exciting all the same. CWU has a penchant for late-game theatrics, and we feel like they’re probably not going to take the Cavs as seriously as they should from the beginning, especially with the potential of a WOU upset looming on Saturday, so… Cavs need to take advantage of it, and CWU needs to nip it in the bud.
Prediction: CWU wins.
UAA @ WWU @ 7:30pm
This should be a pretty standard game for the Vikings. UAA is going to want to try and get the upset, but… It’s gonna be hard in Carver, the big thing in this game is also for the Vikings to not underestimate the Seawolves. The Seawolves have been playing cohesively as of late, if not the best numbers, and so WWU is going to need to focus on not playing down to the competition. As long as they do that, it’ll be fine, but if they don’t it could get dicey.
Prediction: WWU wins.
Should be a great night of hoops. We’ll be keeping a close eye on everything. Tweet at us!
