Previewing Tonight’s Games!

Welcome to the first real day of conference play! Congrats to the Alaska schools on kicking us off correctly -you’ll get your summary tomorrow with the rest of the conference.

Now, let’s get down to business… To defeat… the huns! Er, Pac-West and CCAA, eh?

All times pacific.

SPU @ NNU @ 6pm

Not sure what we’re thinking about this game. SPU hasn’t looked as good as they usually do, NNU has looked a lot better than they usually do, NNU is a hard place to play, and yet… SPU is SPU.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

SMU @ CWU @ 7pm

We’d say SMU should take care of business, because they’ve more than proven themselves in non-con while CWU hasn’t, and yet… CWU is another hard place to play, and their students likely need to blow off steam in anticipation of finals, and what better place to do that than a basketball game?

Prediction: SMU pulls out a close one.

WOU @ SFU @ 7pm

SFU is better than normal. WOU has an amazing team. The Wolves need to be sure to take the Clan seriously, but as long as they do that they’ll be fine.

Prediction: WOU blows out SFU.

CU-PDX @ WWU @ 7pm

We’re really curious about this game because Concordia was impressive in non-con, but we still know so little about WWU -WWU plays the bulk of their non-con in December. On the one hand Concordia is well tested, on the other hand WWU is WWU and this is their first conference game back in a re-modeled Carver after being at Whatcom CC the past two years.

Prediction: The Cavs scare the Vikings but don’t defeat them.

MSUB @ UAA @ 8:30pm

Welcome to MSUB’s first real test, and it’s honestly not much of one -the only true “Wow,” play we’ve seen from UAA is Jacob Lampkin, and yet… who has MSUB played? They’ve won, but the numbers have been terrible, and it’s hard to play at UAA.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

Should be a good night, we’ll be following everything super closely although will be at the SPU/NNU game. Come say ‘hi’ – we’ll be in our usual spot.
