Previewing Tonight’s Games

Mass chaos continues.

All times pacific.

MSUB @ NNU @ 6pm

NNU is coming off of a massive win in showing off their homecourt advantage against a very good CWU team. MSUB needs to keep bouncing back -they’re a good team, they’ve proven themselves a lot this year, but they’ve recently fallen off a cliff. Not sure where they’ll be at for this game. There’s no reason to think that either team will lose aside from the knowledge that one of them will. No clue on what the score’ll be.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

SFU @ UAF @ 6:15pm

The Patty Center is hard to play in, UAF has started to look really good -they got a nice win against a talented SMU team on the road on Saturday- and yet SFU looks like they’re starting to build momentum toward a win. Will they win? Doubtful. We definitely will consider it a possibility, we know they’ll get a win at some point here (at least one, maybe more) but will it be tonight? Probably not.

Prediction: UAF.

SPU @ CU-PDX @ 7pm

This game holds a lot of intrigue, mainly because the Falcons have been a mess and are looking better and Concordia seems to get stronger by the week. The Cavs have some nice wins and we’re ridiculously proud of them. They’re on their home turf and a win against the Falcons is 100% doable, but will they do it?

Prediction: Pick ’em.

SMU @ WOU @ 7pm

Former travel partner match-up, ooooh! SMU has the ability to look really good, WOU has the ability to look elite, but which teams are going to show up tonight? We know the Saints can beat the Wolves, but we also know the Wolves can blow out the Saints. We find it unlikely that the Saints would blow out the Wolves, especially on their home turf.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

WWU @ UAA @ 8:30pm

Game of the night. This is arguably the most difficult game left on the Vikings’ schedule until their inevitable nod to the NCAA tournament. What are they going to do with it? What is UAA going to do? They still have a bit of an argument for an at-large berth, especially now that CWU’s bubble most likely burst, so what are the Seawolves going to do? Protect this Den against the Vikings of WWU, ideally. Curious to see about the respective rebounding performances -it’s a strength of both teams, so the battle should be fun.

Prediction: Pick ’em.

Four out of five games we have no idea who the winner’ll be and regardless it seems impossible to predict. Even the UAF game feels dicey, so hopefully the Nooks are in smash mode. The more you know, the more you don’t know. We considered a discussions post about CWU likely bursting their own bubble, but things are such a mess throughout the Region, that there’s really no true telling. We’re not going to look at it again until the end of this month, because… The games’ll be played. Our own conference is a mess. At this point we still don’t know who’s making the conference tournament; WWU is in, UAA is in, and WOU is in, but the rest? SMU, SPU, NNU, CWU, CU-PDX, and UAF are all mathematically vying for spots, and even with those teams… Only one game separates WWU from UAA, UAA from WOU, WOU from MSUB, and .5 of a game from MSUB to CWU & NNU. After that SPU and SMU are tied at two games back of CWU & NNU, which considering both of those teams still have to play WWU and UAA again, the two game lead is far from solid, much less all of the one game lead.

There are two solid things in the GNAC right now: Chaos and Burningham. Burningham as book ends on the top and bottom, chaos through the rest of the middle.

Good luck, be safe, have fun, go GNAC!
