Good morning and welcome to the second to last day of conference play! There are actually a ton of interesting games being played tonight, so let’s take a look.
All times pacific.
Western Oregon @ MSU Billings @ 6pm
Western Oregon is a really good team. MSU-Billings just lost to a pretty good team by a lot. And yet before that, the Yellowjackets beat a really good team. The Jackets are back at home in that hive of theirs and so… It should be interesting. It should be very interesting. It’ll be great if the Yellowjackets get a win, but shouldn’t do anything to Western Oregon if they lose. However, the Wolves already have the “end of the season” loss we like to see before teams go into the tournament, and so we don’t particularly expect WOU to drop this game. Still -could/should be interesting?
Alaska-Anchorage @ Northwest Nazarene @ 6:30pm
The Crusaders are going to die. Have fun and be safe Seawolves!
Simon Fraser @ Saint Martin’s @ 7pm
Simon Fraser picked up a good win a couple of weeks ago at CU-Portland, which is kind of an SMU-esque team so winning seems like a possibility if not probability. Saint Martin’s is coming off of a heartbreaking heck of a come back against MSUB and so it would be nice to procure some redemption before taking on Western Washington on Saturday.
Alaska-Fairbanks @ Central Washington @ 7pm
Game of the night #1. This is such a fun match-up because both of these teams are headed to the conference tournament, both love beating challenging teams, and CWU has such a fun court to play on and such great fans. On the one hand, UAF got a vote in the coaches poll and thus CWU should be looking to prove that they deserved votes in the poll. On the other hand, UAF loves playing in challenging arenas and beating good teams and CWU is a good team. Joe vs. Almir. Travante vs. maybe Joey? Lots of quality guys and it should just be super fun overall. Good luck to both.
Western Washington @ Seattle Pacific @ 7pm
Game of the night #2, although kind of in a train wreck way? We really, really like the Vikings shortened line-up, we believe in all seven guys wholeheartedly, and this game has conference tournament clinching implications if the Vikings win and MSUB and SMU loses. Right now it looks like the Vikings are in, but stranger things have happened, so… they better be hoping they win tonight. SPU… Flip a coin on how much they care on any given night. It seems odd that they wouldn’t do everything in their power to beat the Vikings, but similarly: stranger things have happened. They could blow out the Vikings or they could lose to the Vikings; we’ll see what happens.
We’ll be all up on it on Twitter, so we’ll catch you guys later.
