Previewing Tonight’s Games

All times pacific.

MSU-Billings @ Northwest Nazarene @ 6pm

We like Billings in this. They lost to Carroll, but they have to move on from it and play their own game, which they did fantastically with on Saturday. There are things we really like about the Yellowjackets and things that are concerning, but nothing they can’t overcome with the Crusaders. In regard to the Crusaders of Northwest Nazarene… They have to find a go-to guy other than Bouna, if only so teams don’t have to focus their entire defensive effort on one player; we’ll see if this is the game that it clicks.

Simon Fraser @ Alaska Anchorage @ 6:15pm

We sooo want SFU to surprise us but let’s be real: they’re gonna get killed. It’s hard to play in Alaska any year and we think it’s pretty obvious that Bankorage is back in business (not that they were really ever out of it; we did want to see the new pairings, but don’t mess with success) and they’re deploying the misery of playing them even on the road.

Saint Martin’s @ Concordia-Portland @ 7pm

??? SMU wants to bounce back, Concordia wants to keep the ball rolling. Theoretically both teams have brutal match-ups on Saturday, so this should be a good, competitive, warm-up game for both. Expect everyone to come out swinging -bringing momentum and confidence going into Saturday could be huge.

Seattle Pacific @ Western Oregon @ 7pm

“Game of the night.” SPU just got swept. WOU lost to CWU. Neither team is where they were hoping they’d be at this point and the best way to handle it is to be at each others throats. That being said… We don’t know how it’ll go. It could be close; it could be not-so-close. It’s less anticipated than we anticipated it being and yet it really should get top billing considering these are theoretically the top two teams. We shall see.

Western Washington @ Alaska-Fairbanks @ 8:30pm

This game should be interesting. UAF had a great weekend down in Seattle/Lacey, Western Washington wants to bounce back after a close loss at MSUB. Playing at UAF even in Western’s most dominant years has served as the Vikings kryptonite, so we’ll see. It should be a good game. Secondary game of the night. Definitely worth a watch.

Other games to be aware of include:

Chico State @ Humboldt State @ 7:30pm
Dixie State @ Azusa Pacific @ 7:30pm

Good luck to all that are playing.
