THIS IS NOT A DRILL. CONFERENCE PLAY IS STARTING, FOR REAL, TODAY!
Alaska Fairbanks @ Saint Martin’s @ 1pm PST
This should be a really good match-up. We trust UAF more, we think they can get their first win off of the tundra, but SMU is still a good team. Both teams faced some decent non-conference opponents and everyone involved has had a nice winter break -theoretically the non-Alaska, Fairbanks kids got to actually go home- so everyone should be nice and fresh. Coin flip game and should be decently close regardless.
Simon Fraser @ MSU-Billings @ 1pm PST
No telling. It’s hard to play at MSUB, but SFU showed promise against SMU. Could this be the day the Clan finally gets a win? Maybe, but MSUB did blow-out CU-Portland a few weeks ago, so another coin flip game although… We project the above game to be close. This game could be close or could be a complete blowout favoring the Jackets.
Alaska Anchorage @ Seattle Pacific @ 4pm PST
Another really interesting match-up. Anchorage is going to be jumping at the bit to get a massively legitimate win against the Falcons, the Falcons are probably feeling a slightly false sense of security. As noted yesterday: We really like a lot of the pieces that UAA has -Corey, Suki, and Diante in particular. SPU also has good pieces, but… We think the Falcons are in for a bit of a scare, but will ultimately pull it out.
Western Oregon @ Central Washington @ 4:30pm PST
Can’t spell slaughter without laughter. Get after it Wolves and for the love of God: DO NOT GET INJURED.
CU-Portland @ Northwest Nazarene @ 6:30pm PST
Yikes. Yet another ‘pick ’em’ game. But this one is likely to be really, really ugly. We’ll say the Crusaders win, but CU-Portland keeps it closer than they have against anyone else.
Have fun with all of your 9am practices tomorrow morning; we’ll have a blog post up some time between 10 and 11.
