Player-of-the-Week Nominations

Just a reminder: These are nominations for player-of-the-week against D2 competition, not “performance of the week.” In order to get the nod even for an individual team, both days need to be solid and both days need to be played at the division two level.

UAF: Bengaly Kaba -two okay performances; nothing good, nothing great, but the best of his team.
SFU: Donated to SPU’s Mitch Penner; six boards against Chico State, put the team on his back during the letdown of the East Bay game by making 11/14 free throws, grabbing seven boards, two assists, a steal, two blocks, and three fouls for the full house.
SPU: Bryce Leavitt -FOURTEEN BOARDS against Chico State, seven boards and five assists against East Bay.
MSUB: Jordan Perry -solid shooting, good rebounding, providing that spark off the bench, awesome.
CU-PDX: Tyler Gutierrez -two okay performances, nothing great but again the best of his team and no bad day.
WOU: Andy Avgi -shot fantastically against ND de Namur and went 80% from the free throw line against Holy Names. Wish the competition was better, but good to see him seize the opportunity regardless.

Congrats to the nominees, winner’ll be up an hour.
