Previewing Tonight’s Games

Seattle Pacific @ MSU-Billings @ 6pm PST

On paper this looks like SPU should win. In reality, the feeling is tenuous at best. It’s strange that SPU and MSUB have developed a bit of a rivalry, and yet after last year: a 2OT game in Billings won by the Falcons and an OT game in Seattle won by the Yellowjackets on the Falcons senior night… this game should be a good one. Plus with MSUB starting to figure out their identity, it should be a nice opportunity for an upset, which could potentially destroy the Falcons.

Saint Martin’s @ Simon Fraser @ 7pm PST

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. It would be nice to see the Saints get it done, but who knows whether or not they will. SFU is at home, they need a win, they haven’t had one in a while, it’s as good of opportunity as any. No real idea what to make of what this game’ll be, but one would assume it’ll be close.

Western Oregon @ Western Washington @ 7pm PST

This should be a really good game, taking it toe to toe. Be a great win for WWU to get in Carver and it seems possible. WOU showed great control over Simon Fraser. There’s no doubt that WOU can get it done and beat the Vikings, but at the same time there’s also little doubt that if WWU manages to exert their will… Hmmm. No clue.

Central Washington @ Alaska Fairbanks @ 8:30 PST

Central is looking hot in their shots but as noted: It’s hard to play in Fairbanks and the Nooks love playing the spoiler role. We’ll see if they take the initiative tonight.

Northwest Nazarene @ Alaska Anchorage @ 8:30 PST

Who’d a thunk this would be an interesting match-up? Not sure if UAA’s gonna have Brian McGill back, but if they don’t they’re gonna have a nasty time dealing with the rising Crusaders. It’s hard to fully count Anchorage out, but they just haven’t done much. NNU was easy to kind of count out and yet now they’re playing so amazingly and so cohesively. The learning opportunity on Thursday should have served them well and they should be ready to go against the Seawolves tonight.

For good and bad reasons, most of these games are impossible to predict so it should make for a good night of basketball. We’ll have all the deets for you on what happened, tomorrow morning.
